Massachusetts health officials have issued an alert regarding a visitor from Texas, infected with measles, who may have exposed many to the highly contagious airborne virus. Measles, caused by the rubeola virus, is an acute viral respiratory illness characterized by a distinctive rash, high fever, cough, runny nose, and conjunctivitis.
